Missing Persons “Spring Session M”
Today’s Cool Album of the Day is Missing Persons,”Spring Session M.”
People didn’t know what the heck to make of these guys, and gal. Are they an MTV promoted all looks, no talent pop act? Well MTV didn’t hurt their popularity. Hardly, in fact, MTV helped push this release into the top 20.
But my no means could ‘Missing Persons’ by considered talentless. In fact, good luck finding more talent in a straight pop act.
Drummer Terry Bozzio only spent most of his career playing with Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck and U.K.
Guitarist Warren Cuccurullo also played with Zappa. He also had a long stint with Duran Duran.
Bassist Patrick O’Hearn is currently plays along side John Hiatt. He had a nice run of releases on the Private Music label.
Chuck Wild on keys and Dale Bozzio vocals filled out the roster.
The most well known tracks were ‘Destination Unknown, Walking In L.A., Words’ and ‘ Mental Hopscotch.
Missing Persons “Spring Session M,” (1982) was produced by Ken Scott and peaked at #17 on the Billboard US Top 200 Charts.
